I love clothes and textiles of all sorts and spend a considerable (read: too much) time "appreciating" the lovely possibilities in handmade clothing on sites like etsy. I have found so much to admire being designed around the world and love looking at vintage inspired patterns and frocks especially. As it happens, I do not have a vintage body. I am 5'9" with hips and athletic shoulders (and a less athletic bust) and rarely find anything that fits properly. When looking at clothing that does suit my figure (and in the colors I most wear) I have sussed out a bit of a pattern - they are almost ALL designed and made in Tel Aviv. Who knew? I have never been to Tel Aviv but, almost without fail, if I go to put a heart next to a dress on etsy that I would actually consider wearing I notice the shop is in Tel Aviv.
In honor of Tel Aviv frocks, here are a few of my favorites.
One of my very favorite dresses of all time was purchased several year ago from No Wonder. It fits like a glove and has the floating text and images (in Hebrew) from Alice in Wonderland screen printed on the sash.
